Westfield – There’s No Christmas Quite Like Yours

Celebrating the weird and wonderful rituals that make your Christmas magic

Background

Westfield Centres are synonymous with Christmas. They’re known for the decorations, activations and of course Santa photos. This year we needed to shift from Christmas living solely in centre, to Christmas being facilitated by the entire Westfield ecosystem – their Destinations, Westfield Direct and Westfield Plus.

Westfield is responsible for shaping the Christmas experience of customers across Australia and New Zealand. It’s their job to ensure it’s a magical experience. That we don’t just pull off the season, that we truly revel in it and make memories that will last a lifetime. For the last few years, that’s been harder. We’ve experienced lockdowns and isolation from friends and family. Our perfectly choreographed day has looked a little different. In the different, we found things we loved. And realised that it doesn’t have to return to ‘normal’ as we knew it.

Tension

When we have been taught there is a way to do ‘Christmas right’, how can we inspire people to embrace their version of magic?

Approach

With the past few years of restricted celebrations, we’ve realised that magic of Christmas comes from us and the rituals we hold close. We use them to unlock & create memories. Our personal rituals are our connection to Christmas.

This year, we want people to lean into those rituals. Embrace what makes it feel like Christmas to them. To find their magic, inspired by Westfield.

There’s No Christmas Quite Like Yours celebrates all the weird and wonderful ways we do Christmas to spread joy and inspire Aussie’s to lean into the season. Because at Westfield, we’re here for whatever that looks like. From sibling Santa photos to matching pj’s delivered to your Airbnb, annual long-lunches, and everything in between.

The platform was launched in November 2022 via a national, integrated campaign.
